Abstract: The Bellarine-Corio Bay Local Coastal Hazard Assessment (LCHA) provides information on the extent of coastal hazards and their physical impacts for the Bellarine-Corio Bay coastal environment.

Dynamic inundation modelling was carried out to create this data layer for 1% Annual Exceedance Probability (AEP) coastal inundation under the assumption of Present Day, 0 m Sea Level Rise, for the Barwon Heads / Lake Connewarre study area. The 10% AEP riverine flood event in the Barwon River was timed to coincide with the peak 1% AEP tide level in the Barwon Estuary ("High Flow" scenario).

Related datasets include the results of static ("bathtub") modelling, and dynamic modelling for other sea level rise scenarios (0.0m, 0.2m, 0.5m, 0.8m,1.2m and 1.4m), including scenarios in which a constant 99th percentile average daily flow (87 m?/s) was assumed for the Barwon River.

Data Source: The Vicmap Elevation - Coastal Topographic 1m DEM was used in combination with storm tide levels to model potential coastal inundation extents. Storm tide levels for this dataset are based on the Geelong tide gauge. Modelling was undertaken by Cardno Victoria Pty Ltd on behalf of Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning (DELWP); Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CCMA); City of Greater Geelong (CoGG); Borough of Queenscliffe (BoQ); Bellarine Bayside Foreshore Committee of Management (BBFCoM); and Barwon Coast Committee of Management (BCCoM).
